Kilpatrick Parish
Kilpatrick church closed in 1971 and the parish is united with Killurin.
History
The Parish of Kilpatrick was appropriate to the Priory of Glascarrig prior to the Reformation. In 1667 it became a Vicarage. The existing church building was constructed in 1844 on land donated by the Harvey family under the proviso that no burials take place within the church grounds. In 1900 the Union of Kilpatrick included the parish of Killurin but by 1939 was included within the Ardcolm Union together with Killurin, it was later separated from Ardcolm and Killurin and then returned to the Union of Killurin. The church closed in 1971.
Wexford Union Heritage Office offers a genealogical search facility for a variety of records relating to all Parishes within the geographical boundaries of the Union.

Below is a list of Surnames transcribed by Marianne Young from the Baptisms Burials & Marriage Registers (Errors and omissions excused). The original registers can be viewed at the RCB Library, Dublin. Please note that at the time of the event many of the population were illiterate and the spelling of surnames was often the interpretation of the officiating cleric e.g. Merryman could be the same as Merriman.
