The Principal Welcome from the Principal

On behalf of the staff and pupils of St. Iberius National School, I welcome you to our page.

School History

The school, which is the parish school of St. Iberius Church of Ireland, was situated in St. Peter's Square for many years since its foundation. In 1963, it moved to it's present site on Davitt Road as a two teacher school. It soon developed into a three teacher school having to use temporary classrooms, until, in 1985, an extension of two new classrooms, staff room, kitchen and general purpose hall were built. In 2002, the pupils numbers increased and an extra teacher was appointed. Again in 2005, a full-time Learning Support teacher was appointed, bring the teacher total to five. The school is now the parish school of the all the parishes of both Wexford and Kilscoran Unions (nine parishes in all). As such, it is a school, based in Wexford town, but not primarily serving it.
